Stanford, Calif.-- My Leander shot a one-under 70 to help lead the San José State to an 11th-place finish at the Stanford Intercollegiate hosted by Dr. Condoleeza Rice. The Spartans finished the three rounds at 872 after shooting a 291 in the final round.
Leander was one of three Spartans to finish tied for 31st at the tournament. She finished a three-over 216, after making six birdies in her final round.
Regan De Guzman shot an even-par 71 to finish at 216, while Elizabeth Schultz also finished a 216 with a final-round 74. De Guzman started her day strong with a birdie and 10 pars over her first 11 holes and finished the round with a birdie. Schultz made four birdies in her final round.
Megan Osland shot a 76 and finished 58th at 224, while Kathleen Rojas was 76th at 231, and shot a 78 on Sunday.
Southern California and Stanford tied for first at 15-under, 837. USC shot a 274 in the final round, while Stanford shot 275. Bronte Law of UCLA won the individual title at eight-under, 205.
"At this tournament, we showed that we can compete with some of the best teams in the country," said Spartan head coach John Dormann. "But, we need to stay confident and in the moment for all 54 holes. We have to finish off rounds and figure out how to not have crisis of confidence moments.
"We had a good day today. Our short game has to improve because we have been making too many bogies at bad times. Our players are capable of shooting under-par scores."
The Spartans now travel to Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown on October 26-28.
