Colorado Springs, Colo.----- San José State University placekicker Austin Lopez who kicked four field goals in the Spartans' 33-10 win over UNLV on October 4 is the Mountain West Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.
A junior from Euless, Texas, Lopez converted attempts of 32, 33, and 47, twice, after missing from 28 yards to tie the San José State single-game record that he shares with Jens Alvernik. He also made all three of his extra-point attempts in the win.
His four field goals are the most by a Mountain West kicker this season and led to Lopez setting San Jose State career records for field goals (46), points scored (242) and kick scoring points (242).
