Sammamish, Wash. – Regan De Guzman recorded her first top-20 finish of the season as the San Jose State women’s golf team finished eighth with a 615 in two rounds played at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at the Sahalee Country Club.
De Guzman finished tied for 18th at 150 after shooting a 77 in the final round on Wednesday. She made two birdies during her round and made seven consecutive pars on holes 11-17.
Megan Osland finished tied for 27th at 154 with a 78 in the second round. Elizabeth Schultz tied for 31st at 155. She shot an 81 in the final round. My Leander tied for 40th at 156, while Kathleen Rojas was tied for 59th at 165.
The Spartans shot a 316 in the final round and made just three birdies on Wednesday.
“This was a very disappointing round for us,” said Spartan head coach John Dormann. “We did not execute properly any facet of the game. We never showed any physical, emotional or mental readiness to play this course well.”
San José State returns to the Bay Are for its next tournament. The Spartans travel up Interstate 280 to play in the Stanford Intercollegiate on October 17, 18 and 19, at the Stanford Golf Course.
