MONTEREY PARK, Calif. -- The San José State University women's swimming and diving team posted another strong outing on day two of the A3 Performance Invitational at East Los Angeles College.
Freshman Morgan McCormick led the way for the Spartans posting a pair of top-10 finishes in the 100 back (6th, 56.18; 17) and the 200 medley relay (5th, 1:44.26).
Riley Spitser is continuing to have a solid weekend, as the junior finished fourth in the 200 free touching the wall in 1:48.99, while Brynne Beneke placed 18th (1:51.13) and Amber Nelson finished in 31st (1:53.40).
In the 100 breaststroke, the Spartans had a handful of swimmers place. Leading the way for SJSU was Jenner Johnson (8th, 1:04.88), Cassidy Robinson (16th, 1:05.41), Taylor Solorio (18th, 1:04.57) 25. Amanda Buxbaum (25th, 1:05.42) 27. Dominique Yoder (27th, 1:05.78), and Shannon Slaught (29th, 1:06.15) rounded out the field of Spartans in the 100 breaststroke.
San José State will conclude the A3 Performance Invitational on Saturday, November 22. Meet is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m., with the finals set to start at 5:00 p.m. PT.
