San José, Calif.-- Nandyala Gama led the Spartans with 11 kills, but Boise State used a balanced hitting attack to sweep the San José State volleyball team 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-18) Thursday night in a Mountain West match at Spartan Gym.
Gama had 11 kills on 32 attempts and added a block assist for the Spartans. Yavianliz Rosado recorded a team-best 16 digs, while Allison Meehan had 21 assists and four digs. Kalie Matthews led the Spartans with three blocks, one solo and two assists.
For the match, San José State hit just .077 and recorded only 26 kills. In contrast, Boise State hit .245 and had three players record 10 kills in the match. The Broncos save their best hitting for the third set with a .324 hitting percentage (18-6-37).
San José State returns home this Saturday, November 8, for a conference match with Utah State. First serve is set for 6 p.m., inside Spartan Gym, located on the corner of Fourth and San Carlos Streets. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for youth and seniors.
