SPARTANS AND FALCONS FACE OFF FOR A SECOND TIME
San José State was defeated, 78-56, on the road at Air Force earlier this month on January 7. Rashad Muhammad scored his season-high 26 points in the game, but an otherwise cold SJSU offense allowed the Falcons to run away with the game. Marek Olesinski scored 16 points to lead Air Force for the game.

LAST MEETING IN THE EVENT CENTER
Air Force squeaked out a 51-48 win over San José State in the last meeting between the two teams inside The Event Center last season on February 12. SJSU used an 11-1 run to take a lead with under three minutes to go, but Tré Coggins hit a late bucket and Max Yon nailed two free throws to put the game away.

FALCONS COME TO SAN JOSE WITHOUT YON
Air Force's leading scorer, Max Yon, has missed the last four games and will not be with the team for Wednesday night's game. Head coach Dave Pilipovich announced that Yon would be taking a leave of absence from the team for personal reasons back on January 19.

MOVING ON FROM A ROUGH NIGHT IN BOISE
San José State is ready to move on after an 86-36 loss at Boise State last Saturday night. Boise State went on a 16-0 run in the first half and continued to pour it on in the second on their way to the 50-point win.

IN SEARCH OF BETTER SHOOTING
The Spartans have shot 25 percent or less from the field in three of the last four contests. Meanwhile, opponents over the last four games have combined to shoot exactly 50 percent and outscored SJSU by an average of 31 points.

LAST TIME OUT AT HOME
San José State made only 10 baskets and fell, 70-41, to Colorado State in Mountain West action on January 17 in The Event Center. The Rams put the Spartans down 18-8 with 9:07 left in the first half, and never relinquished the double-digit lead. Solid free throw shooting kept the Spartans in the game during the first period. But the Rams' lead would grow to as many as 32 in the second half.

MUHAMMAD APPROACHING SJSU TOP-10 FOR THREES
At 106 made three-point baskets, sophomore guard Rashad Muhammad is six shy of cracking SJSU's career top-10 list. Muhammad drained six threes in the last game against Air Force earlier this month. D.J. Brown (2012-14) currently sits 10th at 112, closely behind Ricky Berry (1986-88) at 113 and Terry Cannon (1990-92, 94) at 114. Tim Pierce (2007-09) is San José State's career-leader for made threes with 153.

MORE ON AIR FORCE
The Falcons (8-11, 1-7 MW) fell at home to Boise State 77-68 in their last outing on January 24. Their one win in conference play came against San José State back on January 7. The Falcons are without their leading scorer in Max Yon and their leading rebounder Kamryn Williams, who went down with a season-ending injury. The Falcons are coached by Dave Pilipovich in his third season. The all-time series between the two schools is tied 3-3.
