Perfect Game Mountain West Outlook
Kalei Contrades, a senior right-handed pitcher for the Spartans, was named to the Perfect Game Preseason All-Mountain West Team.
Contrades was one of four starting pitchers to earn the recognition after posting a 5-2 record with a 2.50 ERA in 79.1 innings last season. The native of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, led all qualified San José State pitchers in ERA, innings pitched, walks allowed, strikeouts, batters faced and opponent batting average in 2014.
