SPARTANS TAKE ON FIRST-PLACE #25-SAN DIEGO STATE
San José State will lineup against the Mountain West's top-team in #25-San Diego State this Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. in The Event Center. Tickets are available at the Spartan Ticket Office which can be reached by phone at 408-924-7589. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3 and can also be heard on Stretch Internet Radio as well as KLIV 1590 AM Radio.

SPARTANS FALL TO UTAH STATE, 76-54
Jaleel Williams scored a season-high 20 points, but it wasn't enough for SJSU in the 22-point loss to Utah State Wednesday night in The Event Center. Trailing by 22 in the second half, the Spartans used a 12-2 run to cut the Aggies' lead to 12, but Utah State used a 14-1 run of their own to put the game away.
RASHAD DOING WHAT HE DOES BEST
Rashad Muhammad showed everyone how quickly he can turn a game around when he scored 13 straight points for the Spartans in a matter of 2:19 during the first half of the Wyoming game. His burst included three consecutive hits from downtown. His points were part of a run, which cut Wyoming's lead in half from 12 to six. Muhammad also showed aggressiveness on the boards grabbing a career-high 10 rebounds.
SENIOR RISING DOWN THE STRETCH OF HIS CAREER
Jaleel Williams is playing the best basketball of his San José State career. The team's lone active senior enters Saturday night coming off of a season-best 20-point performance against Utah State. He has hit four three-point baskets in each of the last two games, extending his streak for multiple threes in a game to five. Williams is averaging 13.7 points over the last six games. He averages 7.4 points in 84 career games.
TURNOVERS LIMITED AGAINST WYOMING
San José State turned the ball over nine times against Wyoming on Saturday. It was the first time in the last nine games that the team has limited its turnovers to a single-digit total. The last time it happened was against the same Cowboys team back on January 3 when the Spartans had a season-low, five turnovers. SJSU averages 14.3 turnovers per game in 2014-15.
A SOPHOMORE IS CLIMBING THE ALL-TIME RANKS
Sophomore guard Rashad Muhammad made two more three-point baskets against Utah State, moving into sixth all-time in the SJSU record books with 121 career-makes from downtown. Two more hit from deep and he will take sole possession of fifth all-time, passing Tito Addison. Tim Pierce (2007-09) tops the list with 153 makes from beyond the arc.
MUHAMMAD CONTINUES TO FIND DOUBLE-FIGURES
Rashad Muhammad has finished 14 of his last 15 games in double-figures scoring and is averaging 15.1 points per contest during that stretch. His season-high 26 points came on the road at Air Force on January 10.
FOUR OF THE LAST SIX WILL TAKE PLACE AT HOME
Five games remain for the Spartans this season, four of which will be played in front of the home crowd. Following the matchups with Utah State and San Diego State this week, Boise State and UNLV will be in The Event Center for the final two games of the year. All four contests at home will have either a regional (ROOT Sports) or national (ESPN3) television broadcast. Sandwiched between those home stints will be trips to Colorado State and Nevada.
A LOOK AT SDSU
San Diego State (21-6, 11-3 MW) comes in as the Mountain West's first-place team and is ranked 25th in the country by the USA Today Coaches Poll. They have won three straight, and boast the conference's best scoring defense, allowing 53.4 points per game. Opponents are shooting just 37 percent from the floor against them, and Skylar Spencer has been a force in the middle with his 71 blocked shots. The Aztecs are coached by Steve Fisher in his 16th year with SDSU and his 25th overall as a head coach.
LAST MEETING
The Spartans suffered a 90-64 loss to the Aztecs in the last meeting between the teams on February 25, 2014 down in San Diego, Calif. San Diego State won 75-50 on January 25 in the last meeting which took place in The Event Center. SDSU has a slim 34-32 advantage in the all-time series.

SJSU LETS NEVADA SQUEAK BY, 60-57
A few turnovers and missed opportunities during crunch time kept the Spartans from winning their first game in MW play this season in a tight, 60-57, loss to Nevada on February 7. SJSU hit 16 of their first 20 free throws in the game, but missed four in the final minute of the game. San José State hung around in the first half despite the Wolf Pack having more offensive rebounds (14) than total rebounds for the Spartans (11). Darryl Gaynor IIhad a season-high 25 points to lead the Spartans. AJ West scored 17 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in only 23 minutes to Nevada.
GAYNOR DROPS SEASON-HIGH 25 ON NEVADA
Freshman guard Darryl Gaynor II had his best game of the season against Nevada with a season-high 25 points on 7-of-14 shooting. He was a perfect 9-of-9 from the free throw line and achieved another season-best with seven rebounds. Gaynor has led the way scoring in five games this season.
Brandon Mitchell A TOP-10 REBOUNDER IN MW PLAY
Sophomore forward Brandon Mitchell is in the top-10 for his 6.0 rebounds per game during MW play and his 1.9 offensive rebounds per MW game also ranks inside the conference's top-10.
