SPARTANS LOSE, 67-41, AT NEW MEXICO
San José State struggled to hit their shots at the start of the game allowing New Mexico to open up a 21-4 lead. Jaleel Williams and Rashad Muhammad each finished in double-figures scoring, but it wasn't enough to climb back into the game with the Lobos. It was the only meeting of the year between the two teams.

SHOTS NOT FALLING FOR SJSU
San José State was getting the looks it wanted at the basket against New Mexico, but the shots just would not drop. The Spartans finished the contest shooting 25 percent (13-52), making it four out of the last six games below 25 percent shooting from the floor.

MUHAMMAD BREAKS INTO TOP-10; LOOKING FOR MORE
Sophomore Rashad Muhammad busted into SJSU's top-10 career list when he drained the 112th three pointer of his career against New Mexico (1/31). He is currently tied with D.J. Brown (2012-14) in 10th and is closely behind Ricky Berry (1986-88) at 113 and Terry Cannon (1990-92, 94) at 114. Tim Pierce (2007-09) is San José State's career-leader for made threes with 153.

WILLIAMS STRINGS TOGETHER SOLID GAMES
Jaleel Williams scored 16 points, grabbed seven rebounds and hit all five of his free throws against Air Force on Jan. 28. He followed up perhaps his best game of the season with a 14-point, 10-rebound performance on the road at New Mexico three days later. It was SJSU's first double-double performance of the season.

MUHAMMAD FINDS DOUBLE-FIGURES
Sophomore guard Rashad Muhammad has finished in double-figures scoring in 10 of his last 11 games played. He is averaging 14.6 points per game during that stretch.

MORE TIME FOR MITCHELL
Sophomore forward Brandon Mitchell has replaced center Ivo Basor in the starting lineup for the Spartans the last three games. Mitchell had provided an energy spike coming off of the bench before being inserted into the starting lineup. He's averaging five rebounds per game over the last six contests and has at least one steal in four consecutive games.

MORE ON FRESNO STATE
Fresno State (10-12, 5-4 MW) are coming off of an 80-57 loss at Colorado State last Saturday. On the stat sheet, it appears to be the Marvelle Harris show for the Bulldogs. He leads the team in points per game (17.6), rebounds (5.1), threes (37) and assists (75). However, as SJSU learned in its first outing against Fresno State earlier this season, they have other weapons in Cezar Guerreo and Paul Watson.

LAST TIME AGAINST FRESNO STATE
Fresno State came into the Event Center and defeated the Spartans 73-62 earlier this season on January 14. After SJSU overcame a 10-point deficit early in the first half, Fresno State used a 20-4 run in the second period to run away with the game. The all-time series between the two programs stands at 82-75 in Fresno State's favor.
