Softball Improves To 4-1 Following Sweep At Kajikawa Classic

Tempe, Ariz. - The San José State softball team swept its two games on Saturday at the Kajikawa Classic to improve its record to 4-1 on the season.

In their first game of the day, the Spartans put up three runs in the top of the seventh inning to break a 7-7 tie against Utah Valley. The Spartans won the game 10-7 with Berlyn Rippentrop picking up her first win of the season. Sharon-Renae Estrada and Alyssa Martinez both went deep in the win.

In San José State's next game, an 8-5 win over Portland State, Madison Fish went 4.2 innings in earning her second win of the year. Estrada continued her hot hitting with two more big flys. In five games she is hitting .529 with five homers, two doubles, seven runs and 15 RBI.

San José State wraps up play in the Kajikawa Classic on Sunday with a single game against UC Riverside. First pitch is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
