Fairfax, Calif.--Senior Megan Osland recorded her third consecutive top-10 finish this spring, and My Leander shot the Spartans best round of the day as the San Jose State women's golf team finished sixth at the Bay Area Intercollegiate hosted by the Meadow Club in Fairfax.
Osland shot a two-over 73 in the final round and finished the tournament tied for eighth at even-par 213. Osland has placed in the top-10 in all three spring tournaments in 2015 and won her second tournament of the year for four top-10 finishes on the season. Osland made three birdies during her final round and tied for third-most birdies made in the tournament with 11. She was second in the tournament in par-3 scoring at -4.
My Leander shot the team's low round of the day with an even-par 71, and finished the tournament tied for 36th at 225. She made three birdies and 12 pars in her final round.
Regan De Guzman and Kathleen Rojas each shot a 75 in the final round. De Guzman tied with Leander at 225, while Rojas tied for 41st at 226. De Guzman made three birdies in her round, while Rojas made an eagle on the par-4, 294-yard #16 and added a birdie.
Elizabeth Schultz rounded out the scoring with a 77 and finished tied for 51st at 229. Playing as an individual, Fanny Johansson shot a 73 on Tuesday and finished tied for 36th at 225. She made three birdies and 11 pars in the final round.
San Jose State shot a 294 in the final round and finished sixth at 882. Top-ranked Washington led from start-to-finish with an 18-under, 834. Jennifer Yang from Washington and Esther Lee from Colorado tied for medalist honors at seven-under 206.
The Spartans next compete at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic in Maui from March 23-25.
