TEMPE, Ariz. - San José State's 53rd-ranked women's tennis team couldn't get anything going against No. 19 Arizona State, falling 7-0 Friday morning at the Whiteman Tennis Center.
The Spartans fell to 8-6 overall on the season and the Sun Devils advanced to 11-3 on the year.
After dropping the first doubles point, Malin Cubukcu and Sybille Gauvain notched a 6-4 win in the No. 2 spot to even it up. The Sun Devils claimed the early lead with a 7-5 victory at No. 3.
The Sun Devils swept singles play, snapping Cubukcu's 11-match winning streak and Pahz's five-match mark in the process.
The Spartans open a span of four consecutive home matches when San Diego State visits Spartans Courts in a Mountain West showdown on Friday, March 27 at 12:00 p.m.
