After a conference opening sweep of the Boise State Broncos on SJSU Field, the San José State softball team makes its first road trip of the 2015 Mountain West schedule when it visits Fresno State for three games this weekend.

Last season, Jessica Garcia set the San José State RBI record when she drove in 53 runs in the team's 53 games.
In 2015, Jessie Hufstetler (Jr., INF, Atascadero, Calif.) has already knocked in 52 in 34 games. At this pace, 1.5 RBI/game, Hufstetler could finish the season with 84 RBI.
GET TO THE YARD ON TIME...THIS MAY NOT TAKE LONG
In the Spartans 23 victories this season, the team has defeated it s opponents in less than the regulation seven innings, nine times. San José State has won its last four games by run-rule including a three-game sweep of Boise State, all by run-rule.
SEEING DOUBLE
With its 12 hits barrage against Pacific (3/25), San José State has rapped out double digit hits in 19 of its 34 games this season. When the Spartans reach double digit hits they are 19-0.
CONTROLLING THE SHILLELAGH
San José State leads the MW in several offensive categories...they lead the league in runs (216), hits (307), RBI (193), slugging (.484), walks (158), on-base % (.458) nad they have struck out just 119 times in 881 at-bats.
DRIVING THEM IN
At the beginning of the week Spartans three-four-five hitters Jessie Hufstetler (Jr., INF, Atascadero, Calif.), Sharon-Renae Estrada (Sr., 3B, san Bernardino, Calif.) & Alyssa Martinez (Jr., SS, Wasco, Calif.) ranked one-two-three in RBI in the MW with a combined 119 runs batted in. Hufstetler has 52, Estrada 35 and Martinez 32.
SENIOR FISH OFF TO HER BEST START
Madison Fish (Sr., RHP, Sacramento, Calif.) is 11-3 in 16 appearances and 12 starts in 2015. She has passed her previous season best of eight wins from 2014. In 70.0 innings she has struck out 57 batter and thrown four complete games.
LANG TAKES THE BALL
Allison Lang (Sr., RHP, Fountain Valley, Calif.) has a 7-5 record, four saves and a 3.11 ERA in 22 appearances and 16 starts this year. San José State had faced six top-25 teams this year and Lang has taken the ball in five of those contests. She started against #14 Arizona, #18 California, #1 Florida, #3 Michigan and #15 Baylor and earned the decision in four of those games.
