Napa, Calif.--San José State women's golfer Regan De Guzman recorded her second consecutive top-10 finish Tuesday as she tied for fifth at 221 at the Silverado Showdown at the Silverado Resort and Spa. San José State finished in sixth place at 900.
De Guzman shot a one-over 73 in the final round to finish at 221. Her final round featured four birdies and nine pars. She led the tournament in par-five scoring at four-under and finished with eight birdies. This was her third top-10 finish this year.
Megan Osland finished tied for 13th at 223 after shooting a 77 in the final round. She made just one birdie during her final round. Osland now has seven top-20 finishes this year.
My Leander shot her second 73 of the tournament and finished tied for 22nd at 226. She made two birdies and 13 pars in the final round. Elizabeth Schultz shot a 75 to finish at 230 and tying for 39th place. Fanny Johansson shot an 82 and finished 69th at 242.
The Spartans shot a 298 in the final round to finish sixth at 900. Oregon won the tournament with an 889, one shot ahead of Oregon State. The Beavers shot the low round of the day with a 289 to place second at 890.
"I thought we played pretty well today," said Spartan head coach John Dormann. "Regan had it going good early on, and My and Elizabeth played really well for us. These are good signs for us heading into the conference championships next week. We just need to keep working on getting better, shot-by-shot and round-by-round."
San José State next competes at the 2015 Mountain West Championship next week, April 20-22, on the Dinah Shore Course at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
