The Mountain West Men's Golf Championship begins this week on Friday at OMNI Tucson National in Tucson, Ariz.
San José State enters as the fifth seed as determined by Golfstat's April 28 release of NCAA team rankings. The Spartans will play alongside #3-San Diego State and #4-Colorado State in the first round which begins with tee times from 7:50-8:30 a.m. PT
Spartan junior Cody Blick, at 56th in the country according to Golfstat, is the fourth-highest ranked player in the tournament. Only New Mexico's Gavin Green (No. 9), San Diego State's Xander Schauffele (No. 21) and UNLV's John Oda (No. 35) are ranked ahead of Blick.
The remainder of the Spartans lineup, set by head coach John Kennaday, includes Landon Polterock, Taylor Bromley, Scott Munger and Matthew Ashley.
It will be San José State's second time this season playing at the 7,144-yard, par 71, Catalina Course at Omni Tucson National. The team shot +31 there back in early March at the National Invitational Tournament.
The 11 teams will play 18 holes Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Live scoring will be available for all three rounds via Golfstat.
