San Jose, Calif.--Taylor Elliott, a 6-1 middle blocker from Alameda, will join the San José State University volleyball team beginning with the 2015 season, as announced by head coach Jolene Shepardson.
Elliott played at the College of Alameda for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. She was a 2014 first team All-Bay Valley Conference honoree and was the team's Most Valuable Player this past season. Elliot is also a two-time academic honor roll honoree.
A 2012 graduate of Bishop O'Dowd High School, Elliott played two years on the varsity team and was named a second-team all-conference honoree as a senior. She helped her team win NCA titles her junior and senior years and advance to the CIF NorCal semifinals her junior year. Her senior team went 12-0 in conference play, won the Hayward Area Athletic League title and made it to the second round of the NorCal finals.
Elliott played club for Xceleration Volleyball Club in high school and now coaches at ONE Volleyball Club.
"Taylor exudes enthusiasm both as a person and a player," said Shepardson. "She will play an important role on the team as one of the few upperclassmen. I believe Taylor will set a great example of dedication and desire."
