Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. --- It takes a tough and mentally sound player to bounce back from making an eight on his third hole of the round. Not to mention if he does it two days in a row. San José State's Cody Blick proved Friday he is just that -- moving on from his second eight in as many days to play the remainder of his round three-under par at the NCAA Regional in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
Blick finished with an even-par 72 on the day, which included three birdies and an eagle. He immediately birdied the hole following the eight, which came today on the par-five 12th hole, Blick's third. He went on to fire a three-under 33 on the front side capped by an eagle on his final hole to get the round back to even.
The junior from Danville, Calif., moved up into a tie for 34th place at +5 overall on the individual leaderboard in round two.
Blick has one round left to make a move on the, par 72, 6,947-yard track at The Farms Golf Club. The top-five teams and the low individual not a member on those teams advances to the NCAA Championship in Bradenton, Fla., on May 29-June 3
Blick's final-round tee time is set for 10:12 a.m. off of the 10th hole. Live stats are available via Golfstat.
