COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- San José State's Ozzy Braff was named a Second Team All-Mountain West selection at second base for the 2015 season. The conference office made the announcement Wednesday morning.
Braff, a transfer from NCAA DIII Whitman College, led the Spartans with a .373 average in conference play and tied for a team high with six doubles while adding three RBIs. The junior walked 12 times en route to a .475 on-base percentage and posted a clean slate in 90 defensive chances.
The award is the first of the Palo Alto, Calif., native's career and marks the second consecutive season San José State has had a second-team All-MW performer, with Kalei Contrades taking home the honors a year ago.
Braff and the Spartans take on UNLV in the play-in game of the Mountain West Championship this morning at Peccole Park in an 11:00 a.m. first pitch.
