Austin, Texas --- San José State's Nicole Iloanya finished in 31st place in the triple jump event Saturday at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field West Preliminary Championship in Austin, Texas.
Iloanya jumped 12.36 meters on her first attempt, which would be her best after a 12.21 meter result followed by a foul came in the next two attempts. A 12.79 meter result was needed to be inside the top-12 that advanced to the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships n Eugene, Ore., June 10-13.
With Saturday's result, San José State's outdoor track and field season came to an end. Iloanya was the fourth Spartan competing this week at The NCAA West Prelims, and it was the first time in the short two-year history of the women's program that SJSU participated in an NCAA Track and Field Championship event.
