San José State freshman Nicole Iloanya is the Mountain West Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week (4/27-5/3) after a conference-best triple jump last Saturday at the Longhorn Invitational.
Iloany's distance of 41' 11.5" ranks first in the MW this season, 10th in the NCAA West Region and 23rd nationally.
The Arlington, Texas native shattered her previous personal-record of 40' 7", and the jump ranks her sixth in the country among Division I, II and III freshmen.
It was the fourth time Iloanya has competed and extended her mark in the triple jump during the outdoor season.
The San José State women's outdoor track and field team competes again Saturday, May 9, at the West Coast Last Chance Meet in San Francisco, Calif.
