EUGENE, Ore. --- San José State University men's golfer Cody Blick has been invited back to the 49th annual Pacific Coast Amateur Championship, taking place at the Eugene Country Club from July 28 -31, 2015.
The Robert Trent Jones-designed course will play host to 84 international amateur golfers, including seven ranked in the top-30 in the world according to the Scratch Players World Amateur Ranking (SPWAR) system as of July 23, 2015.
Blick is currently ranked 122nd in SPWAR as the tournament will consist of 72 holes of stroke play over four days of competition vying for the individual Ed Updegraff Trophy, named after the golfer who played on three Walker Cup teams (1963, 1965 & 1969).
The Spartan senior-to-be, who earlier in the week qualified for next month's U.S. Amateur Championship, had a strong showing in last year's Pacific Coast Amateur Championship. He finished tied for seventh at the Pine Canyon Club in Flagstaff, Ariz. where he shot in the 60s in three of his rounds en route to an eight-under par 272 total.
