The 2015 San José State men's soccer season kicks off on Sunday, August 16 with an exhibition match against the Saint Mary's Gaels on Spartan Soccer Field. Kick off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and will be the first of two exhibitions the Spartans will host ahead of the season.

SJSU returns 89 percent of its scoring (25-of 28-goals scored) from last year's team which posted a 6-11-2 record in Simon Tobin's first season leading the program.

Among the top returners fans can expect to see are strikers Rory Knibbs, a junior second-team All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) performer who scored nine goals and assisted on two more last year, and Greg Harte, a sophomore who found the back of the net nine time and had one assist. Also returning is junior midfielder Jonathan Colunga who led the side with eight assists and earned second team All-WAC honors in 2014.

The Gaels posted a 12-5-2 record last season, including a 2-1 overtime win over the Spartans in Moraga. Junior striker Carlo Eikani, who scored four times last year, returns as the squad's top goal producer. Rafael Sanchez, a junior defender, assisted on a team-high six goals. Adam Cooper is entering his 10th season leading the Saint Mary's program.
