Women's Tennis Heads To Stanford For USTA/ITA Northwest Regional Championships

STANFORD, Calif. - San José State's women's tennis team return to the courts this weekend after a two-week hiatus when it makes the short trek to Stanford for the USTA/ITA Northwest Regional Championships.

Stanford's Taube Family Tennis Center will play host to the Northwest Regional for a ninth consecutive fall, with action running Friday through Tuesday.

Participating in the weekend's action for the Spartans are Marine Dans, Justine Deleval, Sybille Gauvain, Marie Klocker, Miyo Kobayashi and Gaelle Rey.

Other schools represented in the field are: California, Cal Poly, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Oregon, Pacific, Portland, Portland State, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Stanford, Seattle, UC Davis, Washington and Washington State.

Singles play will feature a best of 128 format while doubles will run a best of 64. The action begins Friday at 10 a.m. with the first round of doubles and first two of singles. Competition continues over the weekend and wraps up with Monday's semifinal rounds and Tuesday's championship matches.
