Final Results

Boulder City, Nev.- My Leander set the San José State University women's golf record for 54-hole score on Tuesday as she shot a two-under 70 to finish third at 14-under 202 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. The Spartans finished the tournament in eighth place at 21-under 843, after playing three rounds at the Boulder Creek Golf Club outside of Las Vegas.

Leander holds the school record for lowest single-round score (65), tied for the lowest round score in relation to par (-7), lowest 36-hole score (132), lowest 54-hole score (202) and lowest score in relation to par (-14).

The Spartans set school records during each round of the tournament, setting the low-round team score in each of the first two rounds (275), low round score in relation to par (-13), low score after 36 holes (550, -26) and low score after 54 holes (843, -21).

Leander shot the team's low score for the third consecutive round with her two-under 70. She made five birdies on the day, but a bogey on #6 and a double bogey on #17 left her at two-under. She finished third in the individual standings, four shots behind individual champion Anna Newell of Tennessee who shot a seven-under 65 and finished at 18-under 198.

Regan De Guzman shot a one-over 73 and finished the tournament tied for 30th at four-under 212. She had a strong front-nine holes on her card, making eight pars and a birdie on #7. The back nine had her shooting two-over with four bogeys and two birdies.

Elizabeth Schultz finished the tournament tied for 37th at three-under 213. She shot a 77 in the final round and made just one birdie during her round.

Cristina Glebova and Alexandra Cooper each shot a 75 during the final round. Glebova finished tied for 76th at four-over 220, while Cooper tied for 82nd at five-over 221.

After leading the tournament after each of the first two rounds, the Spartans shot five-over par 293 in the final round to finish at 21-under 843. In contrast to the first two rounds where San José State had at least nine more birdies than bogeys, the Spartans had 21 bogeys and two double bogeys compared to just 15 birdies made.

"Everything that worked so well for the past two days fell flat today," said Spartan head coach John Dormann. "Our putters went especially cold this round. Overall, I am very pleased with the performance of the team this week and this semester."

The team is done with fall competitions, and the next tournament is the Peg Barnard Invitational, February 13 and 14, 2016, at the Stanford Golf Course.
