Spartans Host Exhibition Opener on Sunday

San Jose, Calif. - The San José State women's basketball team makes its 2015-16 debut on Walt McPherson Court in an exhibition game against the Sonoma State Seawolves on Sunday, November 1 at 2:00 p.m. in The Event Center.

After a run to the semifinals of the 2015 Mountain West Tournament and posting a 15-17 record a year ago, head coach Jamie Craighead enters her third season leading the program which includes nine returning letterwinners, three transfers and one freshmen.

San José State, whose 78.6 points per game led the Mountain West last year, as did its 8.5 three-pointer per game, features a balanced up-tempo attack led by point guard and 2015-16 Mountain West Conference Preseason Co-Newcomer of the Year Dezz Ramos.

SJSU's two-game exhibition slate wraps up on Monday, November 9 against the Holy Names Hawks. Tipoff in the Event Center is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
