Bristol, Conn.----- The October 17 San Jose State-San Diego State football game from San Jose's Spartan Stadium will be televised live by ESPNU.
Game time for San Jose State's annual Homecoming contest is 7:30 p.m. (PT).
The Mountain West contest for the inside track on the conference's West Division top spot features two of the league's most productive running backs. San Jose State's Tyler Ervin ranks second nationally in rushing yards per game and in all-purpose running. San Diego State's Donnel Pumphrey is third in the conference and 44th nationally in rushing.
Presently, San Jose State (2-3, 1-1 Mountain West) is undefeated at home with wins over New Hampshire, 43-13, and Mountain West rival Fresno State, 49-23. The Spartans travel to UNLV for an October 10 Mountain west game before returning home.
San Diego State (2-3, 1-0 Mountain West) posted a 21-7 victory over Fresno State on October 3. The Aztecs are in Hawaii for a conference game on October 10 before facing San Jose State.
San Jose State and San Diego State are meeting for the 39th time. San Jose State leads the series, 19-17-2. San Diego State has wins in the last two contests between these teams including a 38-7 win last season in San Diego.
