Nov. 11, 2015

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference announced today that San José State men's golfer Cody Blick has won the conference Golfer of the Month award for October/November. It is Blick's fourth career Mountain West Golfer of the Month/Week accolade having previously been awarded for his play in September 2013, September 2014 and October 2014.

This latest award was highlighted by Blick's win at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational on October 13, marking his fifth career win as a Spartan. The Spartan senior shot 17-under 196 at the par-71, 6,734 yard Meadow Club course in Fairfax, Calif. as it was the second lowest 54-hole total for a Spartan in relation to par since at least 1993-1994. Blick shot five-under on the last seven holes during the final round, including a birdie on the 18th to win by one stroke.

Blick led the Spartans to a 27-under 825 team score at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, which was the lowest 54-hole total for the Spartans since at least 1993-1994.

The Danville, Calif. native finished tied for third in his other October tournament, the Price's Give 'Em Five Invitational. Blick shot 11-under 205 at the par-72, 7,307 yard Butterfield Trail Course in El Paso, Texas, as it was his third career top-three finish at the tournament.

In Golfstat.com's initial rankings, Blick was ranked the number two NCAA men's Division I golfer.

Blick and the Spartans resume action in the spring season starting on February 4 at the Amir Ari Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawai'i.
