San Jose, Calif.—Erin Singer, a 6-3 opposite from Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo., has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play volleyball at San José State University beginning with the 2016 season, as announced by head coach Jolene Shepardson.
Singer is in her second year as a starter at Columbine after beginning her career at Heritage High School. This season, she led Columbine in kills with 299, 3.48 per set, and tied for the team high in blocks with 70, 0.81 ps. A 2015 first team all-conference selection, she was third in the 5A Jeffco League in kills and tied for fourth in blocks. The 2015 team finished the season with a 16-9 overall record and 3-4 league mark. Singer was named the Most Valuable Player and to the all-tournament team at the Titan Classic Tournament.
In club, Singer played for Front Range Volleyball. Her team was third at the 2015 AAU National Championship and fifth at the 2015 Junior Olympic National Championship.
She joins older brother, Ryan, at San José State as a student-athlete. Ryan is a sophomore forward on the Spartan men's basketball team.
"Erin brings a tremendous physicality and a strong desire to study and learn the game," said Shepardson. "She has the ability to play as a true opposite and will continue to train as a setter to give us flexibility in our lineup."
