San Jose, Calif.—Thaliana Grajeda, a middle blocker from Clovis, Calif., has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play volleyball at San José State University beginning with the 2016 season, as announced by head coach Jolene Shepardson.
Grajeda plays for Clovis East High School where her team advanced to the semifinal match of the Central Section CIF Division I Championships after a 3-2 win over Buchanan Thursday night. This year's team won its first Tri-River Athletic Conference title and the John Riding Memorial Hard Driven Volleyball Challenge. A four-year varsity player, her 2015 team has a 31-8 overall record and 9-1 league record. Grajeda was listed on the 2014 AVCA Phenom List and plays for the Central Cal Volleyball Club on the 18 Gold team.
"Thaliana is going to a fun player to work with in our program. She is a mulit-dimensional player with the quickness and arm speed of a great middle blocker and the ball control of a superb outside hitter. She is a very focused athlete who will be able to contribute right away to our team," said Shepardson.
