Fonseca Misses Platform Finals At Trojan Invite

Los Angeles, Calif. --- San José State sophomore Kylie Fonseca missed the final round of the platform dive by one spot at the Trojan Diving Invitation on Sunday, November 15, at Uytengsu Aquatics Center.

Placing 13th in the platform dive after the preliminary round, Fonseca scored 187.35 points in five dives. Fonseca's best dive of the event was the back 1 1/2 somersault 1 1/2 twist free from the 5-meter platform, earning her 45 points.

Finishing first in the platform competition was the University of Southern California's Madison Witt with final round score of 521.35 points. Witt scored 257.80 in the prelims.

The Spartans diving team will be back in action on Saturday, December 5, in a three-way meet with California Lutheran and hosts UC Santa Cruz. The swimmers return to the pool on Friday, November 19, for the three day A3 Performance Invitational in Monterey Park.
