San José, Calif.-San José State volleyball seniors Allison Meehan and Tyanna Roy played their final match in a Spartan uniform Saturday as the team fell to San Diego State, 3-0, in a Mountain West match inside Spartan Gym.
Roy led the Spartans with her only double-double of the season with 14 kills and 10 digs. She also had a service ace and a solo block and hit .286 for the match (14-4-35). Roy, a three-year starter, finishes her career with 805 kills and 169 blocks.
Meehan had 15 assists, a kill and a dig in the match. The starting setter in 2014 and 2015, she finished her two-year career with 1,432 assists and 27 aces.
Yavianliz Rosado added eight digs in the match and finishes the 2015 season with 416 digs, the ninth-highest total in a single season in San José State history. After two seasons, she has 841 digs and 44 service aces.
Others contributing included Giulia Gávio with 10 kills, Mariana Mantellato with 15 assists, three digs and two blocks, Nandyala Gama with seven kills and three blocks (1-2), Sara Hibbs with three kills and two blocks, Hana Tresnáková with three digs and two aces, Jamie Hirai with six digs, and Luiza Andrade with five digs.
San José State finishes the 2015 season with a 13-18 overall record and 5-13 Mountain West record. The team's milestones this season include winning the UMass Lowell Invitational, the first tournament title since 2011; going 8-3 in the month of September (all on the road); most non-conference wins (8) since 2006; most wins (13) since 2012; and a series sweep of Fresno State for the first time since 2008.
