Hitting the road for the second week in a row, the San José State Spartans men's water polo team heads to Southern California to take on the No. 7-ranked UC Irvine Anteaters and the No. 14-ranked Loyola Marymount Lions.

The Spartans (3-20, 0-7 MPSF) begin the trip in Los Angeles to face the Lions (10-10, 4-1 WWPA) at Burns Aquatics Center on Friday, November 6, at 3:00 p.m. Then on Saturday, November 7, San José State challenges UC Irvine (12-9, 1-5 MPSF) at Anteater Aquatics Complex at 12:00 p.m. in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation action.

In scoring, 2-meter defender Igor Miljan leads San José State with 22 goals this season. Miljan scored a game high three goals against Connecticut College and has six two goal games.

Completing the top five goal scorers for the Spartans are driver Justin Contreras with 21, utility player Alek Dendall with 18, 2-meter defender Blake Grove with 16 and 2-meter defender Scott Reynolds with 15.

Goalkeeper Matej Matijevic leads San José State with 199 saves in 21 starts this season. Matijevic had a game high 19 saves against Santa Clara in the season opener.

Goalkeeper Cole Williams started in the Spartans last match, making 10 saves against California.

UC Irvine's leading scorer is Kyle Trush with 35 goals. In the cage for UC Irvine, Dylan Peterson has made 236 saves in 20 appearances. The Anteaters have won two of their last nine games.

Loyola Marymount is on a seven game winning streak with four wins over Top 20 teams.
