San Jose, Calif. --- Frank Rogers notched his third consecutive double-double, and along with it, the San José State men's basketball team's third straight win as it defeated the University of Antelope Valley, 90-60, in nonconference action on Wednesday night.

Rogers finished with 20 points on 8 of 11 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds. Twelve (12) of his points came in the second half, helping the Spartans overcome 15 turnovers in the first 20 minutes.

"I don't think there is much more of a groove that you can get in than the one Frank is in right now," said Spartans' head coach Dave Wojcik. "He's worked really really hard, and it's just nice to see the results after the time he has put in. I just hope he keeps it up."

San José State took an eight-point lead into the halftime locker room, but Ryan Welage's seven-points burst fueled a 13-2 Spartans' run which pushed it to 48-29 with 14:08 left to play.

San José State continued with an 18-3 run lasting 4:25, and Roger's layup with 7:44 left made it a 29-point game, 70-41.

The 6-foot-9 Rogers was one of three Spartans to score in double figures as San José State (4-3) won its third in a row to go above the .500 mark. Freshman forward Ryan Welage and Gary Williams, Jr., each added 10 for the Spartans.

"It was a tale of two halves and I'm glad we got the W without anybody getting hurt," Wojcik said "I thought we might have pressed a little to much early on which led to quick shots. But as the game went on we got a little more poised and took better care of the ball."

It is the fourth straight game with 20 or more assists for the Spartans. The team came into the game leading the Mountain West at 16.3 per contest.

San José State takes on cross-town rival Santa Clara next on Saturday, December 5 with tipoff set for 7:00 p.m. at the Leavey Center.
