San Jose State Men's Hoops Set Conference & School Scoring Records In 128-66 Win

San Jose, Calif.----- San José State University set Mountain West and school records for most points scored in a game with a 128-66 victory Life Pacific College in a non-conference men's basketball game.

The Spartans (5-7) exceeded the previous record of 124 points by UNLV in a victory over Central Arkansas on December 28, 2011 and ended a four-game losing streak.

San José State had a school record seven players in double-figure scoring. Forward Cody Schwartz was one of four Spartans with season scoring highs leading all players with 20 points. Freshman forward Brandon Clarke with 18, swingman Gary Williams, Jr., 17; and Ivo Basor, 13, also had scoring highs in the San José State victory.

Forward Ryan Welage picked up his third double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Frank Rogers with 13 points and Jaycee Hillsman with 10 rounded out San José State's double-figure scorers. All 11 Spartans seeing action were in the scoring column.

San José State converted season-highs of 57.9 percent of their field goal tries and 88.6 percent (31-of-35) of their free throw attempts.

The Spartans led by as many as 64 points late in the second half. San José State's 128 points are the fourth most points scored by a NCAA Division I men's team in a game this season.

Life Pacific (1-15), a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association and based in San Dimas, Calif., lost its 13th game in a row.

Forward Tryon Butler and guard Sean Broker were the leading scorers for the Warriors with 15 and 14 points, respectively.

San José State will return to action after a Christmas break opening conference play hosting Utah State on December 30 in a 7:00 p.m. game in The Event Center.
