San José, Calif.--Bay Area gymnastics fans were treated to two hours of women's collegiate gymnastics Sunday afternoon as the San José State women's gymnastics team hosted the annual NorCal Classic at The Event Center. California won the meet with a 195.575, followed by Stanford at 194.800, Sacramento State at 194.325, UC Davis at 192.700 and the Spartans at 191.800 in front of 2,093 fans.

Stanford's Elizabeth Price won or tied for first on all four events and the all-around. She tied with Toni-Ann Williams of Cal on vault at 9.850, and won the bars (9.900), beam (9.850), floor (9.900) and all-around (39.500).

Ellie Pascoe-Long, in her first collegiate meet, had the top performances for San José State as she finished tied for third on floor at 9.850 and the team's top vault at 9.725. Haleigh Shepard added a 9.775 on floor and tied for the team's top bars score with Marissa Unpingco at 9.700. Allison Bellingham led the beam team with a 9.675.

Unfortunately, the Spartans had to count a fall on each of the first three events. The team scored a 47.775 on vault to start the meet, led by Pascoe-Long's 9.725. Hannah Gilbert followed at 9.650, then Kaitlin Won and Maddie Herr at 9.625, Erica Matos at 9.150 and Rachel Heinl at 9.100.

After a bye, San José State scored a 47.675 on bars, led by Shepard and Unpingco at 9.700. Heinl scored a 9.650, then Alyssa Kaschak at 9.550, Herr at 9.075 and Won at 9.050.

The team went to beam and scored a 47.400. Bellingham led the team at 9.675, followed by Herr at 9.625, Kaschak at 9.600, Alisa Bogdan at 9.450, Unpingco at 9.050 and Brooke Young at 8.750.

The Spartan floor team recorded the best team score of the day with a 48.950. Pascoe-Long led the way at 9.850, followed by Won at 9.800, Shepard and Herr at 9.775, Matos at 9.750 and Bogdan at 9.600.

Herr finished fourth in the all-around at 38.100.

San José State returns to The Event Center this Friday, January 15, to face Sacramento State in a dual meet beginning at 7 p.m.
