Fort Collins, Colo. --- The San José State men's basketball team went into the final 3:07 on the road at Colorado State all knotted up 63-63, but the Rams led by Antwan Scott and Emmanuel Omogbo pulled out the 74-66 win. There were clutch shots by both teams made down the stretch that put 3,582 fans on the edge of their seats. But nobody inside Moby Arena was sitting down for the game's biggest moment when Rams junior forward Emmanuel Omogbo checked in for the first time at home since losing his parents and young niece and nephew last week in a tragic house fire.Omogbo grabbed an offensive board and made the put-back for two of Colorado State's 20 second-chance points. The play with 5:56 left in the game gave Colorado State a 59-57 advantage.Princeton Onwas hit a layup that made it 62-61 CSU advantage, and then coming out of a timeout with 3:30 left, he hit a pair of free throws that gave SJSU its first lead since the 6:35 mark of the first half. With 2:40 to play, Scott striped Onwas and went the distance for a bucket and the foul that made it 67-63. The Spartans turned it over on their next possession as well, and Omogbo struck again with a layup that was the dagger making it 69-63 with 1:40 to play. The Rams (12-8, 4-3 MW) put the game away from the free throw line where they finished 17 of 23.Onwas led San José State (6-15, 1-8 MW) with 20 points on 7 of 10 shooting. Cody Schwartz hit a season-high six shots from beyond the arc and finished with 18 points. Frank Rogers joined Onwas and Schwartz in double figures scoring with 10 points.

Brandon Clarke pitched in with big shots in the nip-and-tuck game, and Gary Williams, Jr. was unphased when he went to the line and sank both free throws to tie the game with under seven minutes to play.San José State played the final 8:23 without starting guard Jaycee Hillsman and the final 3:07 without another starter Isaac Thornton after both picked up their fifth foul. Jalen James left the game in the first half with a lower leg injury.CSU's Scott led all scorers with 23 points, and Omogbo ended with 11 points. Tiel Daniels finished in double-figures scoring with 10.San José State returns to The Event Center and opens up a homestand on Saturday afternoon, January 30, against Air Force. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m. on the Spartan Digital Network.
