San Jose, Calif.--Erica Matos and Kaitlin Won helped lead the San Jose State women's gymnastics team to a 192.825 win Friday night in a quadrangular meet in front of 887 fans at The Event Center.

The Spartans placed first at 192.825, followed by Texas Woman's at 191.275, Seattle Pacific at 189.875 and William & Mary at 187.650.

Matos won her second vault title of the season with a 9.800, and her first collegiate floor title with a career-best 9.800. Won placed first in the all-around with a season-best 38.800, and finished second on the beam at 9.800.

San José State started the meet with a strong 48.700, tying for the season-best score. Matos anchored the team with her 9.800. Maddie Herr scored a 9.775, followed by Won and Hannah Gilbert at 9.725, Josalyn Ray at 9.675 and Rachel Heinl at 9.650.

Bars followed for the Spartans in the second rotation with no gymnast scoring lower than a 9.650. Alyssa Kaschak led the team with a 9.750, followed by Heinl at 9.725 and Won, Haleigh Shepard, Marissa Unpingco and Allison Bellingham at 9.650.

The Spartans had to count two falls on beam in the third rotation. Won started the beam team off with a 9.800 and Alisa Bogdan followed at 9.600. However, three of the next four gymnasts fell for San José State as Bellingham scored a 9.025, Herr a 9.075, Marissa Unpingco a 9.725 and Kashack at 9.175.

The floor team finished the meet with a 48.325 for San José State. Matos again led the team with a 9.800, followed by Shepard at 9.675, Won and Herr at 9.625, Ray at 9.600 and Bogdan at 9.575.

San José State travels up Interstate 80 next week for a meet at UC Davis on Friday, February 5, at 7 p.m.
