San Jose, Calif.----- The San Jose State University men's basketball team scored the first 12 points of the game on four three-point baskets en route to a 75-54 win over Air Force in Mountain West game.
Jaycee Hillsman led the Spartans (7-15, 2-8 Mountain West) with 13 points and made two of his three 3-point baskets during San Jose State's opening outburst. The Spartans were 4-of-6 from beyond the arc in the first 3:12 of the game.
Forward Brandon Clarke with 12 points, eight rebounds and a season-best five blocked shots, and guard Jalen James and forward Cody Schwartz with 11 each, gave San Jose State four double-figure scorers for the game. For James, it was a season-scoring high and his second game in double-figure scoring this season.
The Spartans led 26-5, midway through the first half, and were ahead by as many as 22 points, 51-29 with 12:28 remaining, after a pair of Frank Rogers free throws.
The 21-point San Jose State win was the most one-sided conference victory by the Spartans since a 72-45 victory over Fresno State on February 27, 2010.
Air Force reserve center Frank Toohey led all players in scoring with 17 points. The Falcons made just 29 percent (16-of-56) of their field goal tries -- the second game in a row Air Force (10-12, 1-8 Mountain West) was below 30 percent.
San Jose State, which shot 46.2 percent for the game, avenged a 64-57 loss at Air Force on January 2.
