San Jose, Calif.----- Princeton Onwas scored a career-high 24 points for San José State University, but John Gillon's drive to the basket with 10.9 seconds left in overtime gave Colorado State an 85-84 win in a Mountain West men's basketball game.

The Spartans (5-11, 0-4 Mountain West) led 82-78 with 4:21 left in the overtime after a Cody Schwartz three-point basket. Colorado State's Joe DeCiman tied the game at 82-82 with a free throw and a three-point basket of his own with 2.1 remaining.

A pair of Onwas free throws gave San Jose State its last lead of the game, 84-83, with 1:52 left in the extra period. A free throw by J.D. Paige, who created the overtime with a basket in the key at the buzzer, preceded Gillon's game winner for Colorado State (10-6, 2-1 Mountain West).

San Jose State guard Jaycee Hillsman floater from inside the key with less than two seconds to go rolled off the rim giving Colorado State the win.

"We competed, but didn't make the little plays we needed to make and unfortunately we came up with and L today," said Spartans' head coach Dave Wojcik. We didn't execute and make the plays down the stretch we needed to make."

San José State led 78-76 with under 10 seconds left in regulation, but turned the ball over while attempting to break Colorado State's press. Following the steal, Gillon attempted a three from the corner to win the game, but Frank Rogers blocked his shot. Tiel Daniels grabbed the offensive rebound and got it to Paige, who sank a floater at the buzzer.

A pair of Onwas free throws with 23 seconds remaining gave SJSU a 78-74 lead, but Gillon answered right back with a pair of his own makes at the line before the final play of regulation.

The Rams finished 24 of 27 from the stripe, while San José State was 18 of 23. Onwas sank all nine of his attempts, another career high.
