For the first time this season, the San José State women's gymnastics team leaves the state of California for a meet. The team travels to the state of Washington to compete at Seattle Pacific Friday night in a triangular meet with Alaska Anchorage at Brougham Pavilion at 7 p.m.
This is the second meeting of the season between the Spartans and Falcons. Seattle Pacific visited The Event Center on January 29 and scored a 189.875, while San José State won the quad meet with a 192.825.
This is the first meeting of the season for the Spartans and Alaska Anchorage. The two teams last competed against each other at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships last March. San José State scored a 195.175, while the host Seawolves scored a 193.700.

San José State is coming off its best meet of the season last Friday when the team scored a 195.300 at Sacramento State. Maddie Herr led the team with a 39.325 in the all-around, tying for the eighth-best score in school history. She also won the beam with a 9.850.
The Spartans return home next Sunday, March 6, for the final home meet of the 2016 season. The team hosts UC Davis and Brown in a 2 p.m. meet at The Event Center. The six seniors will be honored after the meet.
The meet is also designated as the alumni meet. There is a reception before the meet for Spartan gymnastics alumni (women's and men's) at 11:30 a.m., and all alumni are asked to be at the gym by 1:45 p.m. so you can march out with the team during introductions. An alumni photo will be taken after the national anthem and prior to the first rotation. Alumni - please respond to the Evite sent to you.
