Tucson, Ariz. - Freshman Kevin Velo climbed up to a 11th place tie with a five-under 67 in the second round of the National Invitational Tournament on Monday. Velo is three-under 141 for the tournament, eight shots behind leader Nick Voke of Iowa State.

San José State moved up one spot in the team standings to 13th place after shooting a five-over 293 on the par-72, 7,200-yard Catalina course at Omni Tucson National.

The Danville, Calif. native's, momentum was halted on the third hole with a bogey but he made pars the rest of the round.

Senior Taylor Bromley, the low scorer for the Spartans in the first round, shot one-over 73 on Monday but remains under par for the tournament and sits in a 19th place tie at one-under 143.

Redshirt sophomore Scott Munger played the first 12 holes at one-under par until quadruple bogeying the par-3, 170-yard fourth hole. Munger added a birdie to finish his day at two-over 74 and is two-over 146 for the tournament in a 30th place tie.
