Women's Gymnasts Hosts Boise State In Pink Meet Friday

The San José State women's gymnastics team returns to The Event Center this Friday night with a dual meet against #10 Boise State at 7 p.m. This meet is also designated as the team's annual Pink Meet, designed to raise awareness for breast cancer research. Fans are encouraged to wear pink.

This is the first of two meetings this season between the Spartans and Broncos. The two teams, along with Southern Utah, will compete in Boise on Friday, March 11 at 7 p.m. MST. The Broncos have started the season 6-0 including a win at Southern Utah last week. The team has not scored lower than a 195.700 in four meets this year and ranks in the top-20 in all four events.

The Spartans are coming off a meet at UC Davis where the team scored a 194.225. Kaitlin Won captured the all-around title with a 38.825, while Erica Matos claimed a piece of her third vault title of the season with a 9.825.

San José State is also looking to improve its home score as the team averages a 192.675 at home compared to a 194.550 on the road. The Spartans have just one home meet remaining this season - Sunday, March 6, against UC Davis and Brown at 2 p.m.

Tickets are available at the door for $7 for adults, $5 for youth and $3 for gymnasts in club gear. Doors to The Event Center open at 5:45 p.m.
