Sacramento, Calif.--Three Spartan women's gymnasts finished in the top-four of their events at the 2016 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Gymnastics Championships Saturday evening inside The Nest at Sacramento State. San José State finished third in the team standings with a 194.375.

Rachel Heinl had the best individual finish for the Spartans as she tied for second on bars, tying her season high at 9.800. Josalyn Ray tied for third on vault with a season-best 9.825. Allison Bellingham tied for fourth on beam with a 9.825.

San José State started the meet on bars and scored just a 47.900. Heinl led the team with her 9.800, followed by Bellingham at 9.775, Haleigh Shepard at 9.725 and Marissa Unpingco at 9.575. Maddie Herr scored just a 9.025 after a fall, and Alyssa Kaschak rounded out the scoring with an 8.600.

Moving to beam, the Spartans rebounded with a 48.825, led by Bellingham's 9.825. Herr added a 9.800, and Kaschak bounced back on the beam with a 9.750. Alisa Bogdan and Unpingco each had a 9.725, and Amy Bellingham had a 9.500.

After a bye, the team continued the upward scoring swing with a 48.950 on floor. Erica Matos led the Spartans with a 9.825, followed by Herr and Ray at 9.800, Ellie Pascoe-Long at 9.775, Bogdan at 9.750 and Shepard at 9.375.

The Spartans ended the night on vault with a 48.700. Ray had the team-best 9.825, and Matos added a 9.800. Hannah Gilbert had a 9.725 to finish her Spartan career, followed by Herr at 9.700, Heinl at 9.650 and Kendal Watts at 9.625.

Host Sacramento State won the MPSF Championship with a 196.300, followed by UC Davis at 195.300. Hornet Kalliah McCartney won the all-around with a 39.450.
