Dual Meet Scores

Fresno, Calif. --- On a windy evening at the CenCal Twilight, the San José State women's track and field team registered victories in the 100-hurdles, 1500 and 4x100-meter relay.Makayla Webb, who was announced as the Mountain West track athlete of the week earlier on Tuesday, turned in a wind-aided 13.81 to take first place in the event. Because of the wind ratings, the time will not go down as a school record, although Webb's time is ahead of the school's best, 13.94, which she ran at last year's conference championship.Lalida Maokhamphiou and Ashley Cahalan took over the lead together at the beginning of the final lap in the 1500, and never looked back. Maokhamphiou pulled away to record a victory in the event with her best time as a Spartan, 4:59.51. Cahalan followed behind to take second place."We had another solid meet today despite the windy conditions," said San José State head coach Jeff Petersmeyer. "There were several notable performances today, especially Makayla and Lalida. Cambree was also solid in the long jump for us."Cambree Harbaugh registered a season-best 5.86 meters in the long jump and finished in second place. The final event of the meet resulted in SJSU's third victory for the evening. The 4x100 relay team made up in order by Kelsey Johnson-Upshaw, Caitlin Wilson, Webb and Maija Pinkins, took first place with a time of 47.60."Our relay team also opened up today," Petersmeyer added. "The group looked promising, and we're ready to get back out and compete at the Stanford Invitational."The Spartans compete next in the Stanford Invitational, held April 1-2.
