The San José State women's golf team begins April with the Silverado Showdown this Sunday through Tuesday, April 3-5, at the Silverado Resort in Napa, Calif.
The Spartans are one of 18 teams that will play 54 holes over the three days at the Silverado North Course. The par-72 course will play at 6,206 yards for the tournament.
Play begins Sunday and Monday with tee times starting at 7:45 a.m. PDT, while Tuesday play begins with an 8 a.m., shotgun start.
Teams competing in the tournament include Stanford, San Diego State, California, Oregon, Louisville, Colorado, New Mexico, Ohio State, LSU, San Francisco, Pepperdine, Minnesota, Long Beach State, Gonzaga, Wisconsin, UC Davis, Nebraska and the Spartans.

Last year, the Spartans finished sixth out of 15 teams at the Silverado Showdown. De Guzman was the team's top finisher in fifth place at 221. The Spartans also played at the 2014 tournament where the team was seventh out of 15 teams, and De Guzman finished fourth at 211. That tournament, she opened with a 67 followed by a 71.
