LOS ANGELES --- Caitlin Wilson turned in a new school record in the 200-meter dash, and Cambree Harbaugh was one of the top collegiate long jumpers on Saturday at the Long Beach Invitational.Wilson, who was very fast yesterday in the Mt. SAC Relays, put down a new school record when she clocked a 24.36 in the 200-meter dash."Caitlin is running well right now," said Spartans' head coach Jeff Petersmeyer. "She is in the low 24's now and I think she can run in the 23's coming up."Harbaugh finished sixth overall in a loaded long jump with a season-best distance of 5.83 meters. With a couple of profesionals finishing in the top-three, Harbaugh ended up third among collegians in a field of 66."Cambree Harbaugh was another one that competed well for us," Petersmeyer said. "She went up against some very tough competition and she was very solid."The conclusion of the Beach Invitational Saturday marks the end of another very busy weekend where the Spartans competed against top-notch competition across four meets."I think this was another solid weekend for us," said Petersmeyer. "A lot of our athletes were very good. I thought Makayla Webb had a good week, and it was great to see Allison Lang with the new record yesterday in the javelin. There are still some things that we need to go back and work on, but compared to where the team was a year ago at this time, I like what I see."San José State turns its focus to the Bulldog Invitational, hosted by Fresno State, coming up on April 23. It will be the second time the team has competed at the track and field facility in Clovis, Calif., and it won't be the last as the Mountain West Championships will be held there in mid May.Beach Invitational Results
