Regan De Guzman moved into the top-15 after shooting a team-best two-over 74 in the second round. She finished the day tied for 12th at 151. De Guzman was one-under par for the front nine, making a birdie on the par-four #3 and made eight pars. She was three-over par over the last nine holes.

Abegail Arevalo shot a 77 in round two and is tied for 24th at 154. Her only birdie of the day came on the par-four #7.

Elizabeth Schultz and Alexandra Cooper are tied for 31st at 157. Schultz shot a 76 for the round and was even-par over the last nine holes. She made seven consecutive pars before a birdie on #17 and a bogey on #18. Cooper shot a 79 Tuesday and made a team-high three birdies during her round.

"Overall, we were a bit better today," said Spartan head coach John Dormann. "We are playing the hard holes well, now we need to do better on the easier holes. We are making big mistakes on the easiest holes.

"We are diving the ball well. Now it is a matter of capitalizing on our birdie opportunities. On this course, you know you are going to make a bogey or two. We need to make birdies when given the chance."

Round three begins Wednesday at 7 a.m. The Spartans begin the day at 7:45 a.m. with New Mexico and Colorado State.
