Napa, Calif.-- Regan De Guzman shot an even-par 72 in the second round of the Silverado Showdown and moved up to a tie for 29th at 149 as the San José State women's golf team is now 16th after shooting a 305 in the second round of the Silverado Showdown at the Silverado Resort & Spa in Napa.
De Guzman, who has recorded two top-10 finishes at this tournament, shot her second round of par this season. She made three birdies and 12 pars on Tuesday as she moved up 31 spots on the individual leaderboard. De Guzman played her final six holes (#5-9) at two-under par.
My Leander shot a 77 and is now tied for 78th at 152. Abegail Arevalo and Alexandra Cooper are tied for 66th at 155. Arevalo shot a 78 for the second round and made just one birdie. Cooper shot a 79 and made 12 pars during the round. Elizabeth Schultz is tied for 72nd at 156 after recording a 78 in the round. She made12 pars during the day but did not card a birdie.
San José State is now 16th after shooting a 305 for the second consecutive day for a two-round total of 610. The Spartans made just six birdies in the second round have only 15 made for the tournament.
"Regan had a great round today," said Spartan head coach John Dormann. "She is hobbled a bit by a knee injury but is continuing to put up solid numbers for us. We just need to find a way to make more birdies on this golf course."
Final round action begins Tuesday morning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
