Coming off of a busy split-squad weekend at a couple of the nation's toughest outdoor meets, the San José State women's track and field team turns its sights to the Rainbow Relays this Saturday, April 9, hosted by the University of Hawai'i in Honolulu.The Spartans currently have five marks inside the NCAA Division I West Region's top-25, and hope to grow that number in the dual meet Saturday against the Wahine.The San José State women's track and field program continued its steady rise last weekend, when Jennifer Beckingham broke another school record in the 1500 with a time which ranks inside the West Region's top-15.The Rainbow Relays will serve as a turning point as San José State turns toward the home stretch of the outdoor season. The following week will be another huge split-squad weekend at the California Invitational Combined and the Mount SAC Relays. Then the team will have just a few more meets to fine tune for the Mountain West Outdoor Championships held in Fresno, Calif., on May 11-14.In the video above head coach Jeff Petersmeyer gives Spartan fans a reset on the program's recent success and his vision for more triumphs as the team heads down the stretch of the outdoor season.The Rainbow Relays will be in full swing beginning Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. (PT).
