June 2, 2016

2016 All-Americas

Bridgeport, Pa.----- The 2016 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) season scoring leader and the conference's career scoring leader, San Jose State University senior Rae Lekness was named a second-team All-American by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC).

The Calgary, Alberta native scored a San Jose State single-season record 98 goals to lead the MPSF and finished her career with 294 goals in four seasons. She surpassed the San José State single-season record of 96 goals by Clara Espar Llaquet in 2014 and the MPSF career mark of 291 by University of Southern California's Monica Vavic.

The All-America honor is her first in her four seasons. She is the first MPSF player to finish in the top-five in conference scoring every season from her freshman year in 2013 through her senior campaign in 2016.

Lekness' honor marks the second consecutive year a San Jose State player earned second-team All-America recognition. A year ago, Espar Llaquet earned a similar honor as a sophomore who scored 94 goals.
